The Black Faction Part 2

GM NOTE: This scenario reflects the game style, ranks, and practices of the "Old Roman Legion" and may not accurately represent the history of the current game's storyline. Consult with a GM before referencing any component of this scenario.

"Rome has been shocked by the assassination of Antonia. she was just a
worthless little girl anyway. Imagine how they will react to the next death" the
man smiled.

His boss said "patience! you must be patient. I have the next assignment.
This time it will be Claudius Verus. He is only a quaestor, so it shouldn't be
difficult to kill him and get away. But be ready for anything. Claudius was a
Maxus through marriage. We will save the emperor from his own blood." they
laughed. "Those worthless men and women sit on their great chairs in marble
halls while the people starve! I will get revenge for the people."

A week later Titus Verius Maxus walked up to the home of Claudius. He carried
two official looking scrolls in his hand. Claudius also had no slaves. they
greeted each other and Titus held forward one of the scrolls. "Friend I wish to
offer my condolences on the passing of your wife. I also come to ask of your
opinion on this issue." They went into the house. Titus put the first scroll
down on the table and opened it.

As Claudius leaned over to read Titus pulled out a knife that had been hidden
in the second scroll. The knife wasn't large but it was long and sharp and was
stabbed into Claudius throat. Titus twisted the knife about to make sure
Claudius was dead then removed his robe. he put a small flame to the corner of
the robe and hurried away from Claudius modest apartment. he returned home and
acted as if all was usual.

A small detachment of Praetorians arrived at Titus' house a few hours later.

Titus was completely in shock. Gebrus Antoninus Lecus called out thunderously
from outside the door. "Come out coward and get what is coming to you. Did you
not know the Praetorians have been posted to Questors, Tribunes, and Senators?"

As the men started kicking the door in, Titus looked at his knife "Alas
another shall perish by your blade" and Titus committed suicide. His master and
all other conspirators remain anonymous.
